MBA
MBA is a 2 year professional postgraduate degree course that focuses on fundamentals of modern management, thus providing students with a comprehensive understanding of business while developing leadership and soft skills to implement that knowledge. MBA is the most popular postgraduate business course among individuals who are looking for managerial level jobs. MBA Full Form is Master of Business Administration. Students can study MBA after completing any kind of UG course like BCom, BBA, BTech, MBBS, BCA, BSc, Bachelor of Arts etc.
MBA Admission takes place through MBA Entrance Exams. The minimum eligibility criteria to seek MBA Admission is 50% in bachelors (5% relaxation is available in some MBA colleges), however top MBA colleges in India such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore or IIM Calcutta require a minimum of 60% for MBA Admissions. Students will need to clear GD/PI rounds after clearing the MBA entrance Exams. MBA Entrance Exams are CAT, MAT, GMAT, XAT, SNAP among others.
Most programs also include elective courses and concentrations for further study in a particular area, for example, accounting, finance, marketing, and human resources. MBA programs in the United States typically require completing about forty to sixty credits (sixty to ninety in a quarter system), much higher than the thirty credits (thirty-six to forty-five in a quarter system) typically required for degrees that cover some of the same material such as the Master of Economics, Master of Finance, Master of Accountancy, Master of Science in Marketing and Master of Science in Management.
The MBA is a terminal degree and a professional degree. Accreditation bodies specifically for MBA programs ensure consistency and quality of education. Business schools in many countries offer programs tailored to full-time, part-time, executive (abridged coursework typically occurring on nights or weekends) and distance learning students, many with specialized concentrations.
